Abhyanga
Abhyanga

A traditional Ayurvedic full body warm herbal oil massage.  Generous amounts of heated medicated oil are used to ground and stabilize the nervous system and are massaged into the body with intentional strokes that aid in eliminating toxins from the surface of the skin. This massage deeply relaxes the body and allows the mind to rest while at the same time flushing toxins from the lymphatic system. Abhyanga calms aggravated doshas (bio-physical energies), nourishes the bodily tissues, promotes healthy hormones, improves sleep cycles and leaves you feeling renewed and restored.

Svedana
Svedana

Relax on the massage table, cocooned in our sweat tent,  soaking in aromatic and diaphoretic herbal steam. Your head remains resting outside of the steam tent, enjoying fresh, unheated air.  This treatment typically follows an Abhyanga or massage: a well oiled body is further purified by the action of sweating, and allows for deeper absorption of oils and their suffused medicines.

Marma
Marma-Ayurvedic Energy Balancing
Body Healing

Marma means ‘hidden’ or ‘secret’ in Sanskrit.  Marma points are junctions of tissue such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints. Stimulation of these points helps to open energy pathways that aid in the healing process. Marma points largely affect the area of the body to which they are associated, improving function of the connecting organs or muscle groups.  Marma is used as part of Pancha Karma, or as preventative measures to mitigate undesirable conditions. Focusing on energizing the body to relieve illness and stress, the purpose of Marma is to stimulate the various body organs and systems.
